Boom! JUNE Back to Back Training Camp DONE, Stadium Reroute, Key Location Event Tables, Send your Qualifying Runs to us
We had an awesome time on the weekend with the 48km/18km Training Camp weekend. This time we split into two groups to manage the skill and fitness level of the runners. Massive thank you to Coaches Jodie Oborne and Susannah Harvey-Jamieson for your help. We could not have done it without you. Thank you Alec Green for sweeping!
This year we gave away TWO SUUNTO WATCHES for the best Bloopers in the group’s thanks to Suunto ANZ and K2 Base Camp.
K2 Base Camp also gave out gift vouchers. Congratulations Oliver and Carol for having the best stack and best save for the two-day training camp. Oliver, that footage will keep us giggling for years! Carol had ballerina style save on Westridge. Shona also had an amazing dive roll on Dundas, which lead to a discussion on practising falling and rolling to prevent hand and shoulder injuries. Get your crash mats out and practice rolling.
YES! Red Bull Energy was also there, along with Hammer Nutrition, we learnt how important it is to have just Fresh Clean Water available with you at all times without a sports drink or anything in it which you can control your hydration and electrolytes without any fuel in that fluid source. This is especially relevant for the BTU60, BTU110, and BTU100Mi Runners to keep this in mind when planning your ultra race day hydration and nutrition, they should be thought of as two separate items, not together. The reason is that sugars or carbs will dehydrate you and you also need fluid to process your fuel.
It wouldn’t be the Brisbane Trail Ultra without a course change!
This Year the England Vs Wallabies in the Rugby Union - Support Crews, we’ve found something for you to do while waiting for your runners to come into their next Checkpoint.
What a way to keep your support crew happy!
The Kick-off is at 7:55 pm on 9th July 2022, so as per our 2020 year, we will be re-routing the run around the football precinct. The Route will now take us from La Trobe Tce, RIGHT onto Given Tce. Adam, our BTU logistical support for the event has chosen to take his break at Suncorp Stadium and watch the game.
Our Special Event Police, like in 2020 will have the area closed off for cars, meaning there is less traffic on the roads for the hours before and after the game. We’ve diverted the course to avoid the crowds around Suncorp Stadium.
List of changes from La Trobe Tce -
Right onto Given Tce
Left onto Fernberg Rd
2nd exit (straight) onto Baroona Rd
Left onto Milton Rd and enter directly into the Underpass to CROSS Milton Rd
Exit underpass onto Park Rd

We had a stakeholders meeting on Monday this week and received some insightful information about the conditions of the trails.
Enoggera - Araucaria Track is Closed, E-Break, SEQ Enoggera Area - Will Probably be closed for our event. For the extra distance, we’ve added in Holmans Break if we can’t go through Araucaria Trail on Event Day. See above detail.
Boombana - Toilets being dismantled - This will be completed for our event - Obey the signs and do not go into this area until signage is removed.
Westside Track - Soon to be Open - Please Do not go into that area as it is still unstable after the recent rain - At this stage, it is looking like it will be open for the Brisbane Trail Ultra. Cora and I will soon have permission to trim back the branches and clean the trail up for you.
Gold Creek Reservoir - Open for Picnics - The trails are still closed. Please do not go into this area as there have been a few landslides and the walking tracks are closed. We are waiting for information about the conditions of the trails and have planned around this area if required. We will release this contingency plan if needed. We have received good news regarding the trails that are included in our course and at this stage, it is looking like it will be open in time for our event.
The decisions on which course we will be using will be confirmed the week before the Brisbane Trail Ultra. Make sure you are on our mailing list and receive all our updates.
We have made KML and GPX Files for all distances for all contingency plans and we are all set and ready to go.
We will upload the Confirmed BTU-2022 Course GPX/KML Files onto our Drive the week before the event.
We’ve been working hard to update the Course Tables for you. You can download your course table on each other Event Pages or click on this link below;
We’ve also updated the BTU10 Maps online for you to download with the GPX-KML Files.
