Bush Heritage Australia Partners with Brisbane Trail Ultra, Spartan Trail World Championship.

Brisbane Trail Ultra is proud to announce our new partnership with Bush Heritage Australia.

Our collaboration is born from the love of trails and the passion that drives us to help restore the Australian bush to good health.

The Australian bush is a place of outback wonders and rugged beauty; it is a place that needs to be nurtured and cherished. Bush Heritage Australia is an independent not-for-profit organisation that buys and manages land, and partners with Aboriginal people, to protect and care for our irreplaceable landscapes and our magnificent native species forever.

We love Bush Heritage Australia because they have a holistic approach to conserving our varied ecosystems. There are more than 1,700 animals, plants and ecological communities on Australia’s threatened species list. Bush Heritage Australia steps in where it’s needed most to protect all species on its reserves.

Our team wants to help Bush Heritage Australia, and that is why Brisbane Trail Ultra is pledging $3.00 per every paid BTU - 2022 entry. We have carefully chosen Bush Heritage Australia as every dollar we donate goes towards keeping our country healthy and protected forever. We hope to surpass our target of $3,000 in 2022.

If you’d like to help out, why not set up your own Go Fundraise or My Cause Page? It will be fun and rewarding to raise money while racing the Brisbane Trail Ultra 2022. We thank everyone for entering the Brisbane Trail Ultra in 2022. Your entry helps support our incredible biodiversity, and together we can protect it for generations to come.

BTU Checkpoint Change and Course Change for the BTU10

It would not be a year for the BTU if there wasn't a course change. To fulfill our requirements with Brisbane City Council and help manage the grounds at Mt Coot-tha Forest Park, we have been asked to move the checkpoint from JC Slaughter Falls. Checkpoint 6 will now be located at the Mahogany Trail, Mt Coot-Tha Carpark on the corner of Sir Samuel Griffith Drive and Scenic Dr Mt Coot-Tha and will now be renamed Checkpoint 6 - Mahogany Track, Mt Coot-Tha Carpark to help with ease of locating the area. The new location is directly off the Mahogany Trail descent for the BTU 30km, 60km, 110km & 100-mile runners. The change will not impact the total distance traveled for these distances, merely bringing the checkpoint 700m closer to the previous checkpoint location and 21.0km from the finishing line. The BTU 20km route has therefore been extended by 700m (a descent!) and will now be 21.0km total distance.

The following changes can be expected:

  • BTU10 will now start and finish at this location

  • BTU20 will start at this location and is now 21.0km

  • The Red Bull Climb will now start at the base of the Pinnacles trail

  • More parking is now available for all support crews and spectators along Scenic and Sir Samuel Griffith Drives.

  • Amazing City Views from the checkpoint! You'll be able to see your finish line.

  • Brisbane Trail Ultra will have exclusive use of the area.

Those who have entered the BTU10 and have purchased a transfer from the finish line to Corra-Mulling Park will be refunded their transfer costs.

We will update the BTU10 course map this coming week and have the course remeasured for you. Cora and I have already run the course and know you’ll see the best sections of the Mt Coot-Tha Forest park for the distance covered.
